Water Filtration

Do you want to enjoy safe, clean drinking water, free of fluoride, chlorine, lead, and the countless number of chemicals for less than the cost of bottled water, all while creating a much more environmentally friendly solution than plastic bottles? Would you like to enjoy water that is easier on the skin, doesn’t leave soap residue on washed clothes, and is safer for appliances? If so, it might be time for you to consider a home water filtration system.

Why Your Drinking Water is So Important

Most doctors recommend drinking eight 8-ounce glasses of water every day. That means a lot of opportunities for people to ingest harmful chemicals into their bodies. Clean drinking water also makes a better tasting coffee and tea, both hot and cold. If you’re a person who enjoys a cup or three of coffee in the morning, filtered water can greatly improve the taste. The number one alternative for drinking tap water is bottled water. Americans drink a staggering 50 billion water bottles every year, as sales of bottled water continued to grow. While bottled water offers convenience, especially on the go, a better taste, and fewer chemicals than tap water, it is not without its disadvantages. Only about 25% of plastic bottles are recycled, causing billions of bottles to end up in landfills. Not only that, but it takes 17 million barrels of oil every year to make all the water bottles consumed by just the US alone. And what about the cost of bottled water? Bottled water, over the years, can cost 100s of times more than tap water.

The Safety of Drinking Tap Water

The Flint, Michigan water crisis, which is still affecting the people of Flint, raised awareness and questions surrounding the safety of drinking regular tap water. Some contaminants found in tap water include fluoride, chlorine, mercury, arsenic, lead, pesticide runoff and countless other hard-to-pronounce and dangerous toxins. These toxins have been known to be linked to everything from cancer and asthma to thyroid problems and kidney damage to digestive system issues. While no one is claiming that drinking tap water will definitely lead to these illnesses, there are safer and healthier options for drinking water.

What Are the Alternatives to Filtered Water

If only there were a way to get a better-tasting water, without all the dangerous chemicals and toxins in the tap water. Oh–and find a way to eliminate all the time and energy spent in making plastic water bottles, not to mention all the waste that the used bottles contribute to the environment. And one last thing, do it at a cost cheaper than bottled water.

A whole-house water filtration system is a great way to provide you safer and healthier water, not only for drinking, but in several other ways as well. And it does it without all the disadvantages of bottled water.

A whole-house water filtration system is installed where the main water supply enters the house. The system cleans water that is used by the entire house. A smaller point-of-use filtration system is also an option. This is a system typically found under a kitchen sink that is primarily used to provide cleaner and safer drinking and cooking water.

Additional Benefits of a Whole-home Water Filtration System

While your main priority might be to find a safer source of drinking water, a whole-house water filtration system also provides other significant benefits to the homeowner. Besides providing a great source of cleaning drinking water, whole house filtration systems provide the following benefits:

1. Healthier Skin–Metals and chemicals in water can irritate the skin. This is especially true for people with skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema.

2. Better-functioning Appliances–Metals, minerals, and chemicals found in water can damage the appliances in your home. This includes your dishwasher, washing machine, garbage disposal, and ice maker.

3. Better-functioning Plumbing–In addition to extending the life of appliances, a whole-house filtration system can extend the life of the plumbing system and plumbing fixtures in your home.

4. Removes Soap Scum–Filtered water minimized formation of soap scum, leaving dishes, clothes, and sinks cleaner.

What to Expect During the Installation of a Whole-home Water Filtration System

McNabb Plumbing will be happy to visit your home to discuss the benefits of a whole-home filtration system and provide you with a cost estimate.

We’ll provide you an estimate of the work we’ll do and make sure to discuss the project with you in its entirety–there are no hidden fees or charges you’ll “find out about later.”

During every visit, our plumbers wear protective gear that protects your house during our visit, as the last thing we’d ever want to do is create more trouble for you. We go to great lengths to minimize our impact in your home.

To begin the installation of a whole-home water filtration system, we turn the water off and install the filter valve kit and filter housing. We separate outdoor hose faucets from the filtered waterline. (Why wash your car with filtered water?)

When the installation of a home water filtration system is complete:

  • We turn on the water and check for leaks.
  • We flush the water filter and purge air from the line to flush out air and small amounts of the carbon from the filter.
  • We show you components, tell you about noises to expect from the filtration unit during its monthly regeneration, etc.
  • In one year, we will return to test the water and make sure the filter continues to remove lead, chlorine, V.O.C.’s (volatile organic compounds), etc.

100% Satisfaction Guarantee

If you are not 100% satisfied with the service we have provided, (barring cost) we will refund your money. If our plumbers smoke or are disrespectful in your home, are not drug tested, or leave your home without cleaning up, you do not pay for the service. If a repair or equipment that we have provided and installed fails in the first year, we will repair it again–no charge.
